Parishioners put up St Dunstan's Clock thankful that the Great Fire of London stopped when it reached the church. The church was rebuilt in the 1830's but the clock is the original. The diarist, Samuel Pepys, used to attend services in the church regularly, although he was easily distracted.
The Church was also well known by Charles Dickens.
