It runs changing exhibitions of contemporary watercolours and original prints, featuring the work of members of both societies.
Barbican Centre, The
T he Barbican is comprised of businesses, exclusive residential flats, the Museum of London and the Barbican Arts Centre.
It is probably the ugliest building in London, although the new British Library may be another contender for the title.
Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery The Courtauld Institute Gallery has one of the most important collections in Britain, including world-famous Old Master and Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, together with sculpture and applied arts.

The Crafts Council houses Britain's largest contemporary crafts gallery. here is a continuous programme of major craft exhibitions, some of which tour nationally and internationally.
National Gallery, The

T he National Gallery houses one of the world's finest collections of Western European paintings from 1260 to 1920.
It has a massive collection of over 2300 paintings (all the paintings are on display except those on loan or being repaired) in 68 galleries and well over 4 million visitors per year see them!
This is a far cry from when the gallery was founded in 1824 when Parliament gave £57,000 for the purchase of the first 38 pictures.
National Portrait Gallery

he National Portrait Gallery was founded in 1856. There were only 57 paintings in the collection when it was first exhibited.
Today the gallery's collection includes over 9000 portraits.
Photographers' Guild, The

F ounded in 1971, the Photographers' Gallery is Britain's leading centre for contemporary photography. It presents 24 exhibitions a year in 3 galleries, focusing on the most important developments and talents in contemporary photography.
Pimlico & Victoria
Pimlico is primarily a residential area and (Vauxhall Bridge Road aside) has been considerably smartened up in recent years. As in many parts of London, there are many fine white stucco fronted Victorian houses and beautiful private squares.

Architect J G West originally designed The Serpentine Gallery, built in 1934, as a tea pavilion.

The Tate Gallery - now Tate Britain - was named in honour of Sir Henry Tate, the sugar merchant, who donated the original collection. It houses the national collection of British paintings from the 16th-20th centuries.
