Westminster, London, SE1 7UT

Westminster Bridge links Westminster and Lambeth.
The first Westminster Bridge was completed in 1750, relieving much of the strain on London Bridge, which up until then was the only crossing on the River Thames in central London.
It only lasted about a hundred years (not very long for a bridge), following many problems caused by its design, and it was replaced in the mid nineteenth century by the present bridge, which has proved much more successful.
This is a great place to come for a photograph with the Palace of Westminster in the background.
