Handel House Museum

Handel House is where the great baroque composer George Frideric Handel lived and died, and where he wrote such timeless masterpieces as Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Fireworks Music. Old Operating Theatre, Museum and Herb Garret

Hidden in the roof of St Thomas's Church is a 300 - year old herb garret which houses Britain's only surviving 19th-century operating theatre, complete with wooden operating table and observation stands, from which spectators witnessed surgery performed without anaesthesia or antiseptics.
