A riot of Victoriana, verging on a full scale civil war, The Salisbury has long catered for the theatre-inclined and gets packed to the rafters with theatre goers as well as actors from the nearby West End stages.
This is particularly true on Friday and Saturday evenings and a doorman has been employed with the express purpose of "keeping out the riff-raff"! Despite the scrum, the atmosphere is bubbly and friendly here, helped along by excellent service and very well kept beers.
It is perhaps one of the best preserved Victorian pubs in London and is well worth a visit just to marvel at the elegant light fittings, ornate mirrors and magnificent mahogany.
