Back in 1608, the founder of the famous Harvard University in the US, John Harvard, was baptised here and many famous Londoners of the past are buried here, including William Shakespeare's brother, Edmond. Among the many monuments in the Cathedral there is also one to Shakespeare himself who was a part owner of the nearby Globe Theatre.
