The full title is The Oratory of St Philip Neri. This baroque Catholic Church was designed by Herbert Gribble and built in 1884.
Although in the heart of London, much of the interior came from churches in Italy and Belgium and was from a much earlier period. The interior is ornately decorated throughout. The ceiling and altar must be seen.
Before Westminster Cathedral was built the Oratory was London's major Catholic church. Today it is still highly regarded. There is a Latin mass at 11am on Sundays.
